Congratulations to James Manalad and Nicolas Desjardins-Proulx for being awarded FRQNT graduate study fellowships!
James’ fellowship will support his PhD studies and Nicolas’ will support his MSc studies. Both are students undertaking their research projects as part of the Kildea lab’s NICE research program.

John Kildea and fellow members of the Opal Health Informatics Group ran in the 21k de Montreal race and raised $3,165.94 for the Laurie J. Hendren Opal Scholarship fund at the Cedars Cancer Foundation!

John Kildea was an invited participant in a panel discussion on healthcare data and outcomes as part of an event hosting a Swiss visiting trade delegation at the Novartis Canada headquarters in Old Montreal.
The panel discussion focused on “The Role of Data for Better Health Outcomes”. Novartis Canada is a partner in the Quebec SmartCare Consortium in which John Kildea is the principal investigator.

Congratulations to Hossein Naseri for successfully defending his PhD thesis!
Hossein’s thesis is entitled “The use of radiomics and natural language processing to detect pain in the simulation-CT images of patients undergoing radiotherapy for bone metastasis”. Hossein is the second PhD student to graduate from the Kildea lab.
