Quantification of head and neck cancer patients’ anatomical changes during radiotherapy. Toward the prediction of replanning need.

I’m proud to share this new paper by Odette Rios-Ibacache and colleagues on ongoing research in the Kildea lab.

Many head and neck cancer patients experience significant anatomical changes during radiotherapy that may require modifying their treatments. But such changes can be challenging to manage and disruptive to workflows. Tools to predict replanning can help. By coming up with novel anatomical metrics, Odette was able to build AI models that can successfully predict replanning need early during treatments.
