Presenting to a distinguished group of guests at the Royal Irish Academy, in Dublin, Ireland.

Last night, I had the honor of presenting to a distinguished group of guests at the Royal Irish Academy, in Dublin, Ireland. This event was organized by the Innovation Value Institute at Maynooth University.

Grahame Grieve, inventor of the FHIR health data standard was the main attraction and I had the tough task of following his lead and that of Martin Curley and Maxine Radcliffe.

Having personally experienced the frustrating lack of access to my parents' data in the Irish healthcare system, this event was very personal for me.

I was able to share the Opal Health Informatics Group l #OHIG’s work on Opal, OpenEMR, and the International Patient Summary, as well as our vision for patient-in-the-loop data. Many thanks to Martin Curley and Maxine Radcliffe for the invitation.
