Lucia is a MDCM Candidate at McGill University. Lucia is investigating radiation-induced lymphopenia, a common side effect of radiotherapy in which levels of lymphocytes are reduced due to unintended radiation exposure during treatment. This project aims to evaluate whether lymphocyte-sparing radiotherapy strategies can be implemented in practice using the open-source HEDOS framework to better estimate and potentially reduce radiation dose to circulating blood while maintaining effective tumor control.
