Luc Galarneau

Research Associate

Luc Galarneau is a research associate in Dr. John Kildea’s lab in the Department of Physics at McGill University.

Luc is an experienced Biochemist with expertise in computational biology, statistics and clinical research. He has also studied cancer, genomics, immunology, and cell signaling. After completing his training in biochemistry, Luc worked as a research associate, doing fundamental research on cancer. Having been exposed to the advances in computing power and DNA sequencing technologies that allowed the emergence of the ‘-omics", Luc became interested and involved in big data analysis. To improve his skills in these areas, Luc completed his training in Bioinformatics at McGill University.

Health has always been an area of interest for Luc; for this reason, he has become involved in clinical research lately at Université de Sherbrooke. With his interests in computational biology, data analysis, cancer and clinical studies, Opal was the perfect place to make use of his abilities.
