Aixa is a Research Assistant at John Kildea’s lab in the Research Institute of McGill University Health Centre. She is currently participating in two research projects, the Oncobuddy project and a head and neck cancer radiotherapy (RT) replanning prediction project. Currently, Aixa is the web manager of the Opal website (opalmedapps.com).
For the Oncobuddy project, Aixa is developing an artificial intelligence (AI) matching algorithm. The end goal of the Oncobuddy project is to match cancer patients that are looking to give or receive cancer support.
On the other hand, the head and neck cancer RT replanning prediction project is looking to find predictors of RT replanning. Some of the parameters that are closely related to replanning and have been evaluated as predictors are weight, area in the neck, patient’s volume and distance between body contour and planning target volume.
